Sacramento, CA – The Assembly Banking & Finance Committee voted 8-3 to pass AB 122 authored by Assembly Member Rendon and sponsored by State Controller John Chiang.

AB 122 creates a statewide financing program to encourage commercial building owners to install energy retrofits. Currently, many commercial property owners do not retrofit their buildings because projects are too expensive, it is difficult to find affordable financing, and the pay-back period for the loans takes too long to realize the cost savings of the loan.

Assemblymembers Anthony Rendon and Richard Pan Say Scientific Evidence Shows Need for AB 711 to Phase Out Lead Ammunition

Sacramento – Assemblymembers Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) and Richard Pan (D-Sacramento) today touted a report published by the leading scientists in the field of lead poisoning who say that “overwhelming scientific evidence” shows the toxic effect of lead-based ammunition on human health and the environment. 

"Environmental exposure to lead is known to cause neurological deficits in intelligence and behavior in children.  Lead ammunition is now the second largest use of lead in the United States," said Dr. Pan, Chair of the Assembly Health Committee. "As a pediatrician, I am proud to cosponsor AB711 to phase out use of lead-based ammunition and reduce lead in our environment."

SACRAMENTO –Speaker John A. Pérez (D-Los Angeles) announced a new Assistant Majority Floor Leader and a new Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee Chair, replacing former Assemblymember Ben Hueso, who was sworn into the Senate today. These appointments are effective immediately.

Assemblymember V. Manuel Pérez (D-Coachella) will take over the position of Assistant Majority Floor Leader, replacing Assemblymember Anthony Rendon (D-Lynwood).

Assemblymember Rendon is the new Chair of the Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee.

These issues are of vital importance to the constituents of the 63rd Assembly District.  Many of the communities in my district face double-digit unemployment, under-funded schools struggling to meet the needs of students, families facing above-average asthma rates, and residents who can’t get access to reliable, clean and safe drinking water.

(SACRAMENTO) — Professor and small businessman Anthony Rendon (D-Lynwood) today was sworn in as the Assemblymember for the 63rd Assembly District, which includes the communities of Bell, Cudahy, Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood, Long Beach, Lynwood, Maywood, Paramount and South Gate. The ceremony was held on the Assembly Floor at the State Capitol at noon.

"I am a strong believer that our short- and long-term economic and job growth is dependent on investment in education," said Rendon. "One of my legislative priorities will be to work to ensure that no-cost publicly funded pre-school services for income-qualifying families and high-quality, low-cost public community colleges and universities are made available for all Californians.
