(Sacramento) – Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Paramount) says the passage of Assembly Bill 1066, legislation to extend full overtime pay to agricultural workers, gives farm workers the respect they deserve. “Today was a victory for economic justice, just like the minimum wage vote was earlier this year,” said Speaker Rendon. “We righted an 80-year-old wrong and said that hourly workers will have the same overtime protections, whether they are picking vegetables in a field, manufacturing their containers in a factory, or selling them in a store.” Here’s more from the Speaker in this Assembly Access video.
