(Los Angeles) - Assembly Speaker-elect Anthony Rendon (D-Paramount), along with Latino Legislative Caucus Chairman Assemblymember Luis A. Alejo (D-Salinas) and Assemblymember Ed Chau with the Asian Pacific Islander Caucus (D-Monterey Park), announced at a news conference the names of the non-profits which will receive $15-million in One California grants. The money will be used to help lawful permanent residents seek citizenship, buy homes, and engage and invest in their neighborhoods and communities. “Once we get folks across the finish line of citizenship,” said Speaker-elect Rendon. “We need to remember not to neglect the value of fully engaging them in our democracy.”
