(Maywood, CA) – On a hot Saturday in mid-July a large group of volunteers joined Assemblymember Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) for a Cleanup Day at Riverfront Park. Assemblymember Rendon says “it’s wonderful to see so many people taking pride in their community”. Earlier that same week in Maywood, Assemblymember Rendon hosted a community information meeting on Assembly Bill 240. AB 240 created transparency for Water Mutual Companies by requiring them to make public meeting agendas, minutes and water quality reports. AB240 also allocated $1-million to help clean up Maywood’s drinking water.Assembymember Rendon says, “We need to find local solutions to our water problems and that’s exactly what we’re trying to do in Maywood.
