SACRAMENTO — Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) today announced the launch of a new podcast by Assembly Democrats titled “Look West: How California is Leading the Nation.”
“Constant changes in the media landscape mean we as elected officials must adapt to how we reach the people we represent,” Rendon said. “With nearly 50 million Americans listening to podcasts weekly, it only makes sense for us to go to where our constituents are.”
The first three episodes of “Look West” feature:
- Assemblymembers Blanca Rubio (D-Baldwin Park) and Wendy Carrillo (D-Los Angeles) sharing their journeys as immigrants;
- Assemblymember Laura Friedman (D-Glendale) discussing her role leading the Legislature’s response to the #MeToo movement;
- Speaker Rendon interviewing Assemblymember Shirley Weber (D-San Diego) about her life and experiences in the civil rights movement.
