SACRAMENTO — Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Paramount) has announced his appointment of Abigail Medina of San Bernardino to the Dental Board of California.
“Abigail Medina has a long record of service to the community and a demonstrated commitment to promoting public health,” Rendon said. “She will do an outstanding job on the Dental Board working to protect consumers and to ensure the integrity of the dental profession in California.”
"I am deeply honored and grateful for this opportunity that Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon has bestowed onto me to serve the public in San Bernardino and throughout California on the Dental Board,” Medina said. “I look forward to being a voice and an advocate for the people of our great state on the Board in the years ahead."
Medina also serves as a board member of the San Bernardino Unified School District.
The Dental Board licenses and regulates dentists, registered dental assistants, and registered dental hygienists. It also has authority to discipline its licensees for unprofessional conduct, incompetence, and gross negligence.
Medina, 41, is a Democrat. She fills a position reserved for a member of the public not affiliated with the dental profession. The term is four years. Compensation is $100 per diem and expenses.
