SACRAMENTO – Assemblyman Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) issued the following statement after the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a motion by Supervisor Hilda Solis to take immediate action to address ongoing impacts from toxic contamination caused by Exide battery plant in Vernon.
SACRAMENTO – Assemblyman Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) issued the following statement after the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a motion by Supervisor Hilda Solis to take immediate action to address ongoing impacts from toxic contamination caused by Exide battery plant in Vernon.
“I thank and fully support Supervisor Solis for her action to protect the 100,000 residents impacted by toxic emissions from the Exide plant.
“Now that the county is doing its part, the state must as well. I will continue working with the state Department of Toxic Substances Control to ensure swift action in the identification and clean-up of contaminated homes.”
Assemblyman Anthony Rendon is serving in his second term representing the 63rd Assembly District, which includes the cities and communities of Bell, Cudahy, Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood, North Long Beach, Lynwood, Maywood, Paramount, and South Gate.
