SACRAMENTO – South Gate resident Anna Quintanilla was awarded the California Latino Legislative Caucus Foundation scholarship, Assemblyman Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) announced today.
"Anna has overcome a great deal of personal adversity to achieve her impeccable academic record and involvement in the community," Rendon said. "I am incredibly proud to award this scholarship to a very deserving resident of the Southeast."
Quintanilla, a resident of South Gate and recent graduate of Camino Nuevo High School, will be applying the scholarship toward her education at Smith College with her goal to become a pediatrician.
