Exhibit Will Be Displayed In Capitol Rotunda from April 21 to May 1
Sacramento, CA – Assemblyman Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood), along with the Asian Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus, will host a reception and display of artifacts of the “Flying Tigers” on Monday, April 20.
Following the reception, the artifacts will be displayed at the second floor rotunda of the Capitol from April 21 to May 1.
Known formally as the 1st American Volunteer Group of the Chinese Air Force, the “Flying Tigers” were a group of pilots from the U.S. Army, Navy and Marine Corps who defended China in World War II. The shark-faced nose art of the Flying Tigers remains among the most recognizable images of any World War II combat units.
