Assemblymember Autumn Burke reacts to US Supreme Court's 5-4 Decision to Block the FACT Act

(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Autumn Burke (D-Inglewood) and Assemblymember David Chiu (D-San Francisco) - authors of the Reproductive FACT Act (AB 775) - reacted to the United States Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision in NIFLA v. Becerra  on June 26, 2018 which blocked the FACT Act. “As a mother and as a legislator, I am proud of California’s history of guaranteeing a woman’s right to her reproductive choices and access to a basic level of healthcare. But, that right is an empty promise if she lacks the ability to obtain the care and services from a trusted provider who provides her with all the information,” said Assemblymember Burke. “Today’s decision is incredibly disappointing, but more importantly, it sets a dangerous precedent.” Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
