(Sacramento) – Assemblywoman Autumn Burke (D-Inglewood) introduced Assembly Bill 1110 to boost the learning potential of California students and promote lifelong health by requiring comprehensive eye exams upon starting school. AB 1110 is necessary at a time when one in four children and adolescents have a vision problem that can impede their learning, but current school-based vision tests fail to identify one-third of them. KCRA-TV3 was on hand when Assemblywoman Burke, her co-authors and supporters held a rally prior to the measure being heard by the Assembly Education Committee. Watch their story in this Assembly Assets video.
