Event will link area businesses with new resources for growth and development

SACRAMENTO – Assemblywoman Autumn R. Burke (D-Inglewood) will be joining forces with the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) on Friday, May 27th for a special forum on small businesses.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy,” said Burke.  “We’re home to some of the most innovative businesses in California, from Silicon Beach to our aerospace hub, and they all have one thing in common, they started small.”

The forum is designed to connect small businesses with state resources that can help owners and entrepreneurs expand and add jobs.  With the resources provided by GO-Biz, attendees can learn more about options for technical assistance, financing, and even opportunities for state contracting.  The event will begin at 8:00 am on Friday morning at the Boys and Girls Club of Venice.

GO-Biz was created by Governor Brown to serve as a portal for business and economic development efforts in California.  The office provides a range of services to business owners, from incentives to attract new business to the state, to streamlining the regulatory process for existing businesses and international trade development.

For more information on the forum, individuals are encouraged to contact Burke’s district office at (310) 412-6400.

Assemblywoman Autumn R. Burke represents the 62nd Assembly District, which consists of the cities of Inglewood, Hawthorne, Lawndale, El Segundo, and Gardena as well as the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Westchester, Playa del Rey, Playa Vista, Venice, and parts of Del Rey. Additionally, the 62nd Assembly District includes the unincorporated Los Angeles County communities of Del Aire, West Athens, Lennox, Westmont, and Marina del Rey.
